Will, my friend and I absolutely loved it and hope we can come to all of your concerts. The setting was perfect. I've always wished for concerts in darkness. In college I took a wonderful music appreciation class where we entered a large auditorium, no shoes or papers allowed, and listened to great music in total darkness. I loved it so much I took the class again. Yours was the first "dark" listening experience I've had since 1972! Your playing is gorgeous, the singing and guitar mesmerizing and the readings and poems lovely. Thank you so much for giving us such a magical evening. - Nancy M
Thanks for the unbelievable musical service. Will, you take us kicking and connecting with new people who love music and natural life! Then Tony captured the beauty of classical guitar, which for me was delightful, secret toe wiggling while lying on my mat, housed in dark AC while visually surrounded by elms and willows. The hands on energy touch upon request, was an amazing bonus. Can't get any better. Patty and Bob I also appreciated how impressively you and Tony jump to classical together. - Valerie Attending music in the dark last night, I opened up a new experience of art and community now. Allowing myself to feel the profound music of Guy Forsyth and Will Taylor , while laying on my back in the dark was strangely moving in my body and even toes. . I was sensing the joy in having community which embraced the music with me. The sharing after the music reawakened the healing part of listening and deepening understanding. Together We embraced the music and shared radical awakens to being alive. - Dr. Patty Stephens Last night was a one of a kind intimate concert experience. I was so glad I went last night. I walked away from the concert on a cloud!! You and Guy were so nice and personable, the BEST musicians, the music touched my soul, enough to make me shed a few joyful tears. To say the whole experience touched my soul is an understatement!! It was one of the best concert experiences ever. You and Guy are synonymous with Austin and Concert in the Dark is definitely an experience everyone should see. The music was amplified in the dark, I still have the music floating around in my head. Last night was just incredible. Tina Hi Will, What a fantastic event you had last night with Guy and Ryan! I very much enjoyed the vibe, the welcoming atmosphere and sharing of stories…it definitely had that feeling of connection that you described in your emails! The music was gorgeous and rich - transporting us all and bringing out an incredible amount of emotion in me. I spoke to Ryan and Guy and told them how much I appreciated their music and giving to us all last night. I wanted to thank you as well for putting this together and sharing your talent and love for music with us! This event was so beautiful and relaxing - It was well worth the drive (I live in Bastrop) even after a hectic week! I almost didn’t come, but it was just what I needed. Your connection to Guy and Ryan musically was palpable, and I am in awe at how beautifully you express yourself through your instrument and voice. I am very much looking forward to more events and some outdoor concerts! I spoke to you after and told you I would like to be involved in this project - I will be on the lookout for volunteer options, and am in Austin from Mon-Wed every week. I can help on weekends depending on schedule, but I am disabled with a mobility issue. I am strong, but limited in my ability to help with moving heavy things or long walks.
